SUMMARY:Grand Canyon South Rim Overnight
DESCRIPTION:Grand Canyon South Rim OvernightSeptember 14-15\, 2026 \n$475 per person\, double occupancy + Single Supplement: $175 \n\nDay One: Williams\, Mather Point & Sunset at the Grand Canyon\nWe’ll leave the Valley behind and travel north toward the cool mountain air of Northern Arizona. Our first destination will be historic downtown Williams\, where we’ll enjoy lunch on self. With Route 66 diners\, local cafés\, restaurants\, shops\, and nostalgic roadside attractions\, Williams is the perfect place to begin our Grand Canyon adventure. \nAfter lunch\, we’ll continue to Grand Canyon National Park\, where our afternoon will be devoted to experiencing the magnificent South Rim. We’ll begin at the Grand Canyon Visitor Center before making our way to Mather Point for that unforgettable first look into one of the world’s greatest natural wonders. \nGuests who would like to stretch their legs may enjoy an optional walk along the paved Rim Trail from Mather Point to Yavapai Point. Those who prefer not to walk will be transported to meet the group at Yavapai Point\, ensuring everyone can enjoy the spectacular scenery at their own comfort level. \nWe’ll also visit the Yavapai Geology Museum\, located directly along the canyon’s rim. Fascinating exhibits and a detailed relief model help tell the geological story of the Grand Canyon\, while enormous picture windows provide breathtaking panoramic views. \nLater that afternoon\, we’ll check into Yavapai Lodge\, our home for the evening. Located inside Grand Canyon National Park near Market Plaza\, the lodge offers a wonderful combination of rustic charm\, comfort\, and convenience. Park shuttle stops\, the market\, café\, tavern\, and dining hall are all nearby\, while the canyon’s rim and iconic viewpoints are only minutes away. \nAfter time to settle into our rooms\, we’ll gather for an included dinner. As evening approaches\, we’ll return to Yavapai Point to watch the setting sun transform the canyon walls into brilliant shades of gold\, red\, and purple. \nAfterward\, enjoy a relaxing evening at the lodge. Those who wish may step outside for optional stargazing beneath the remarkably dark skies of Grand Canyon National Park. \nDay Two: Desert View Drive\, Watchtower & Cameron Trading Post\nBreakfast will be on self at Yavapai Lodge before bags are loaded and we begin our scenic journey along Desert View Drive. \nAlong the way\, we’ll stop at carefully selected viewpoints\, including Grandview Point and Navajo Point. Each overlook offers a different perspective of the canyon’s immense cliffs\, colorful rock formations\, and the Colorado River winding far below. \nOur featured destination will be the historic Desert View Watchtower\, one of the Grand Canyon’s most recognizable landmarks. Designed by celebrated Southwestern architect Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter and completed in 1932\, the stone tower was inspired by the ancestral Puebloan architecture of the Colorado Plateau. \nFrom Desert View Point\, the landscape opens toward the Painted Desert\, with sweeping views of the canyon and Colorado River. We’ll have time to admire the Watchtower’s remarkable architecture\, enjoy the ground-floor View Room\, and take in the surrounding panoramic overlooks. \nAfter leaving Grand Canyon National Park\, we’ll continue to the historic Cameron Trading Post for lunch on self. Established in 1916 along the Little Colorado River\, the trading post has welcomed travelers for more than a century. Its restaurant serves American\, Mexican\, and Native American-inspired dishes—including its famous Navajo taco. \nThere will also be time to browse the expansive shop\, known for its Native American jewelry\, pottery\, rugs\, baskets\, artwork\, and Southwestern gifts. \nFollowing lunch\, we’ll begin our return to the Valley\, bringing home wonderful memories of historic Route 66\, a night inside Grand Canyon National Park\, a spectacular South Rim sunset\, the iconic Desert View Watchtower\, and some of Arizona’s most magnificent scenery. \nSpace is limited due to the small number of rooms available at Yavapai Lodge. SUMMARY:An October Afternoon in Jerome
DESCRIPTION:An October Afternoon in JeromeOctober 14\, 2026 \n$145 \n\nOnce known as the “Wickedest Town in the West\,” Jerome sits more than 5\,000 feet above sea level on the steep slopes of Cleopatra Hill. Founded in 1876\, it grew from a copper-mining camp into the fourth-largest city in Arizona Territory\, with a population that once approached 15\,000. After major mining operations ended in 1953\, the population fell below 100\, but artists and preservationists helped give the town a fascinating second life. In 1966\, the Jerome Historic District was designated a National Historic Landmark. \nOctober is an especially fun time to visit this spirited mountain town! Jerome proudly embraces its ghostly reputation\, even presenting an annual October Ghost Walk that brings infamous characters and mysterious tales from its mining days back to life. \nWe’ll begin with an included lunch at the Haunted Hamburger\, a family-owned Jerome favorite known for tasty burgers\, sweeping views of the Verde Valley\, and a ghostly story or two. According to restaurant legend\, hammers mysteriously disappeared during renovations—only to reappear later in conspicuous places—inspiring part of the restaurant’s delightfully haunted lore. \nAfter lunch\, enjoy free time to explore Jerome’s historic streets\, colorful shops\, art galleries\, and wine-tasting rooms. One of the town’s strangest landmarks is the famous Sliding Jail\, which was carried downhill from its original location by the severe ground movement that once plagued the mining town. \nBecause Jerome is built into a steep mountainside\, exploring may include inclines\, uneven sidewalks\, and stairs\, and accessibility can be limited inside some historic buildings. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended\, and guests should consider their personal mobility needs when deciding how much of the town they wish to explore. \nWith its colorful history\, cooler mountain air\, and playfully spooky atmosphere\, Jerome is especially bewitching in October! \nLunch Included \nDepart: Northwest 8:30 a.m. | Phoenix 8:30 a.m. | Scottsdale 8:15 a.m. | Mesa 7:45 a.m.\nReturn: 6:00 p.m. \n\n\n \n \n Please enable javascript in your browser to book\nCancellation Policy — ONE-DAY Van or Motorcoach Tours must be paid for when you make your reservation. We’ll travel through Arizona’s rugged high-desert scenery\, making a comfort stop along the way before arriving in Kingman. Upon arrival\, we’ll enjoy time for lunch on self. \nAfter lunch\, we’ll continue east along the Mother Road to Valentine\, home of Keepers of the Wild\, an accredited nonprofit wildlife sanctuary nestled within a picturesque 175-acre canyon. As we travel through the canyon\, we may encounter lions\, tigers\, bears\, wolves\, leopards\, primates\, cougars\, bobcats\, coyotes\, and other rescued animals. Our Keeper will share fascinating facts and heartfelt stories about the animals and how they came to call the sanctuary home. \nFollowing our safari\, we’ll have time to browse the gift shop before beginning our journey home. Admission and gift shop purchases directly support the sanctuary’s ongoing rescue efforts and the care of its animal residents\, making this an experience that is both exciting and meaningful. \nIf Keepers of the Wild has been on your list of places to experience\, join us for an unforgettable adventure! \nDepart: Mesa 6:45 a.m. • Scottsdale 7:15 a.m. • Phoenix 7:30 a.m. • Northwest 7:45 a.m.\nReturn: 7 p.m. \n\n\n \n \n Please enable javascript in your browser to book\nCancellation Policy — ONE-DAY Van or Motorcoach Tours must be paid for when you make your reservation.
