Here’s a Kindred Tours Fall Classic—a journey that kicks off in historic Flagstaff—with a stop for take-out from Diablo Burger, an Arizona local foods-based burger joint. Lunch alone is worth the drive! Diablo Burger partners with local farmers, ranchers, bakers, cheese makers, brewers, vintners… to create “landscape-scale conservation that you can taste.” Which is just a lot of fancy talk for the best cheeseburger in the American Southwest. We’ll settle in at a local park to allow for a little social distancing while enjoying our award-winning burgers & fries, soft drinks, and wine, and it’s all included. After lunch, we’ll head north on Highway 180, better known as the San Francisco Peaks Scenic Road, one of Arizona’s most beautiful scenic byways. With Arizona’s highest mountains dominating the landscape, we’ll journey through rolling meadows, as clusters of golden aspens become more and more dense. We’ll take the turnoff to Hart Prairie Road—unpaved, bumpy in spots, and incredibly scenic! With cows grazing at the base of the San Francisco peaks and the gold of aspens spread across the landscape, this spectacular drive is most dramatic mid-October. This is a wonderful annual trek. Don’t miss it!
