The Rio Salado Habitat Restoration Area stretches along five miles of the Salt River, just south of downtown Phoenix. Once a dried-up riverbed full of trash, the habitat is now home to over 200 species of birds and animals, along with a variety of habitats including wetland ponds, a mesquite bosque and cottonwood/willow forest. The site has miles of very accessible paved and dirt trails, and an Audubon Nature Center. We’ll enjoy an easy nature walk before heading to Mrs. White’s Golden Rule Café, for a delicious lunch on self. A Phoenix landmark for over 50 years, Elizabeth White is famous for her fried chicken, but her affordable menu includes pork chops, mac & cheese, homemade banana pudding and so much more. This great tour is fun and affordable. Why not come with us!
