March is one of the best times to visit Boyce Thompson Arboretum, when cooler temperatures, fresh greenery, and seasonal blooms bring this remarkable desert garden to life. Set along scenic Queen Creek Canyon just outside the historic town of Superior, the arboretum offers a lush and tranquil setting unlike anywhere else in Arizona.
We’ll begin our day with lunch on self in downtown Superior, where guests may choose from several casual cafés and local favorites. After lunch, we’ll head to the arboretum for a leisurely afternoon of exploration.
Well-maintained paths wind through cactus gardens, bamboo groves, shaded riparian areas, and scenic overlooks, with benches throughout for resting, relaxing, and visiting. Spring brings gentle temperatures, flowing water, and welcome pops of color—making this one of the most enjoyable times of year to experience the gardens.
