We often journey to Mount Lemmon—but for those ready for a different take, join us as we spend the day exploring the charming mountain village of Summerhaven. Nestled high in the Santa Catalina Mountains at nearly 8,000 feet elevation, Summerhaven offers cool pine-scented air, towering trees, quirky little shops, and a laid-back mountain atmosphere that feels worlds away from the Valley heat.
We’ll enjoy time to stroll through the heart of Summerhaven and browse some of its beloved local stops. The Mt. Lemmon General Store & Gift Shop is famous for its homemade fudge, often featuring more than a dozen flavors, along with unique gifts, souvenirs, snacks, and mountain goodies. We’ll also visit the whimsical Living Rainbow Gift Shop, filled with colorful treasures, artwork, and playful mountain charm.
Of course, no visit to Summerhaven feels complete without a stop at the famous Cookie Cabin, known for its giant made-to-order cookies and cozy mountain atmosphere.
Lunch is included today at the Sawmill Run Restaurant, a longtime Summerhaven favorite named in honor of the sawmills that once operated on this very site. With deep roots in Mount Lemmon history and a relaxed mountain atmosphere, Sawmill Run offers a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the cool temperatures.
Escape the summer heat and join us for a refreshing day among the pines as we discover a different side of Mount Lemmon—one filled with mountain charm, local history, sweet treats, and cool alpine air.
