Opened in 1929, the Orpheum Theatre is the last remaining movie palace in Phoenix. A stunning example of Spanish Revival style architecture, the Orpheum features an atmospheric ceiling, complete with sunrises and sunsets, stars, and moving clouds—offering patrons the impression of enjoying the show in an open-air setting. We’ll travel back in time to the golden age of silent movies to enjoy the 1926 comedy classic The Little General, starring Buster Keaton. Now in its 22nd season, Silent Sun-days will feature this classic silent film accompanied live by world-renowned organist Ron Rhode on the Orpheum Theatre’s beautifully restored Mighty Wurlitzer pipe organ. We’ll also enjoy lunch on self, prior to this matinee performance, in the downtown Gilbert Heritage District. Loaded with small-town charm and walkable streets lined with culinary powerhouses, the Heritage District offers something delicious for everyone. It’s gonna be fun!
