Fall Colors on the Verde Canyon Railroad
November 13, 2026
$249
The Verde Canyon Railroad offers a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of the canyon aboard a restored vintage train pulled by an FP7 locomotive—one of only 10 remaining in North America.
This four-hour excursion carries us on a 20-mile journey through more than a century of history. We’ll pass ancient Sinagua cliff dwellings and travel across sturdy trestles and bridges—a lasting testament to the people who built them more than 100 years ago. The route also includes a 680-foot tunnel blasted from solid rock, briefly enveloping passengers in darkness before reemerging into Arizona sunshine.
November is one of the most spectacular times to visit Verde Canyon. The riparian corridor along the Verde River bursts into seasonal color as towering cottonwoods and stately sycamores turn shades of gold and amber, contrasting beautifully with the red canyon walls.
All seats are first class! Enjoy spacious, living room-style seating with access to an open-air car offering unobstructed views. Amenities include a champagne toast upon boarding, full-service cash bars, table service, and complimentary prepackaged snacks.
We’ll arrive early at the depot to enjoy a light lunch on self before boarding the train. The Verde Canyon Railroad is remarkable in every season—join us for this unforgettable fall journey!
